The architectural brief called for the resurfacing of an existing nightclub, set over 2 levels with a mezzanine. Spatial intervention was limited to the reconstruction of the mezzanine perimeter. Flexible separation between levels was achieved with CNC routed veneered marine ply sliding screens installed at the perimeter. The screens are opened to offer vantage from the mezzanine whilst performances are underway below in the main level. They’re closed for exclusive parties on the more intimate upper level whilst maintaining access to the light of the chandelier.
